Imperfect Hindsight

Soaking in the simple pleasures
All twas had was ripped away
A world turned dead at break of day
When all essentials left behind
That give any berth for peace of mind

I turned my back
I walked alone
To another place
That wasn't home
I left behind the dancing laughter
Only to be followed after
By voices taunting hatefully
How little worth is left in me.

Taking joy in evening's leisure
Soaking in the simple pleasures
All twas had was ripped away
A world turned dead at break of day
When all essentials left behind
That give any berth for peace of mind.

Stepping through another gate
Wond'ring at the cruelty
Never understanding fate
Why it is i came so late
Knowing what we might have been
I curse and bless god once again
Seeing precious moments die
Watching hope get slowly lost

Taking joy in evening's leisure
Soaking in the simple pleasures
All twas had was ripped away
A world turned dead at break of day
When all essentials left behind
That give any berth for peace of mind

Turn around Twist one more
Praying please
Stop keeping score
What to do that will appease
When is it that will return ease
The home i had to leave behind
Belonging both in heart and mind
 Taking joy in evening's leisure
Soaking in the simple pleasures
All twas had was ripped away
A world turned dead at break of day
When all essentials left behind
That give any berth for peace of mind.

Taking joy in evening's leisure
Soaking in the simple pleasures
All twas had was ripped away
A world turned dead at break of day
When all essentials left behind
That give any berth for peace of mind.

Loss

A thought or wish
A hope or dream
Thoughts that slip away like steam
From the surface of warmer water
A change in form from child to Mother
Walking through these memories
Understand what I've seen
A little more
A little less
A the tiny things I never noticed

To watch you dancing in the rain
And see your face one time again
To know the thoughts behind the walls
To have you catch me when I fall
Would that I could set you free
Only to have you return to me

Sing above the clouds
My heart that listens in to
Hear the words your soul imparts
Never knowing the chaos hid within
The things not heard by the drop of a pin

Standing at the precipice edge
Funny what can come of one small wedge
Cracks that show in imperfect light
Wrongs were never set to right

Swept beneath another rug
No longer feeling that internal tug
So you left and I am here
Facing down my own worst fear

Love that lost
When when stars were crossed
Between the seas
And above the skies
The lack of it is in your eyes.

Revery

I dream
for the hope of tomorrow
I sing
for love that I've known
I walk
for the day that is dawning
I cry
for the bitterness sewn

This world that we are making
Destruction and pain at its core
The fear and evil are straining
To gain power more and more.

We shine
as we stand together
We hold
And the font line is growing
We march
Hand in hand we are reaching forever
We shout
With the darkness receding

It's the power we wield ever more.
Oh for the knowledge within us
So scorned and thus hidden from view
We hold the keys to our future
If only we accept what is true.

I stand
On my own ‘gainst my demons
I howl
My pain to the black
I fight
with whats left of my strength now
I know
That I cannot turn back.

Oh for the simpler beauties
The joys that this world cannot see
Oh for the words that came flowing from soulfire
The power forgotten in poetry.

Cloudy Day

Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose
In the end, I suppose it's just what you choose.
See through the clouds to know the sun.
Live through the darkness to say that you've won.
Hope for tomorrow in spite of the rain.
That maybe, just maybe, you'll see Love again.
The clouds came rolling in today
The Darkness with them stole me away.
I could not fight the rising pain
Its blocking out the sun again.
I miss the comfort of fond embrace
The love that shone with passing grace
Slipped away in the steeping dark
Still it left a deeper mark
Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose
In the end, I suppose it's just what you choose.
See through the clouds to know the sun.
Live through the darkness to say that you've won.
Hope for tomorrow in spite of the rain.
That maybe, just maybe, you'll see Love again.
I'm learning to do battle with demons inside
Such the the wounds are still so wide
Swallowing the last of my soul
I never thought to be made whole.
Never truly sought out joy
Never wanted to be the toy.
Pretty puppet on a string
Pity she's a wooden thing.
Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose
In the end, I suppose it's just what you choose.
See through the clouds to know the sun.
Live through the darkness to say that you've won.
Hope for tomorrow in spite of the rain.
That maybe, just maybe, you'll see Love again.
The clouds came rolling in today
The Darkness with them stole me away.
I could not fight the rising pain
Its blocking out the sun again.
I miss the comfort of fond embrace
The love that shone with passing grace
Slipped away in the steeping dark
Still it left a deeper mark
Scars that cannot truly heal
So many deep, beloved weals
Today I keep to black despair
Praying that may you'll still be there
When the clouds have gone away
And let light shine through
For perhaps one day.

Twisted

I am the disaster lurking in the night
Waiting for the moment you think might turn out right
I am the incision where no cut should ever reach
I am the the blackened tower wall
The none may ever breach.
I have Seen life's battles
And I have worn the blood
Gruesome travesties are mine
And evil so much as good.
Clouds that hide the sun away
Terrors that all hopes must slay
Keeping in the dark lit void
Dreams unraveled, loves destroyed
I have Seen life's battles
And I have worn the blood
Gruesome travesties are mine
And evil so much as good.
Tears for some unanswered prayer
I am the one who isn't there
There is no other to take this place
To were the mask a passable face
I have Seen life's battles
And I have worn the blood
Gruesome travesties are mine
And evil so much as good.
I dance against the razor blade
My debt can never be repaid
One scar for every curse I brought
Blood payment for each hopeful thought.
I have Seen life's battles
And I have worn the blood
Gruesome travesties are mine
And evil so much as good.
I am the monster
I am the curse
I am the nightmare you fear the worst
I am the disaster
That came to end your hope
I am the harbinger of doom
And I am the death inside the womb
I have Seen life's battles
And I have worn the blood
Gruesome travesties are mine
And evil so much as good.
I am quite unique you see
The one I want to hurt is me
But only ever seem to find
Its the ones I love this curse must grind
Leaving naught of what was said before
Saving nothing set to store
All it leaves again is me
Seeing things most cannot see
So as I stand
A shadow still
I cannot Be
I never will
Run oh mortal sweetly alive
I cannot bare to see you strive
And ruin all you tried to build
To watch the curse I cannot wield.
I am just the carrier
To leave a little warier
Those poor souls who cross my path
To suffer Fate's dark twisted wrath.
I have Seen life's battles
And I have worn the blood
Gruesome travesties are mine
And evil so much as good.
I have Seen life's battles
And I still wear the blood
Gruesome travesties are Mine
And Evil more than Good.
And choose to stay

Acceptance

Slow and subtle
Bittersweet
Slipping in on silent feet
Superbly supple destiny
Reaping souls in infamy.
Death can be a funny thing
When you fly on broken wings

Sweet release
A blessing rare
To finally end the lasting care
Pain swells with the passing years
Scars that came with too many tears.
Weary bones not bent with age
The final turning of a misused page.

Slow and subtle
Bittersweet
Slipping in on silent feet
Superbly supple destiny
Reaping souls in infamy.
Death can be a funny thing
When you fly on broken wings

Swift the final hours fly
Time enough to say goodbye
Let go the last of hate or fear
The inside screams no one could hear
Drain away the last despair
Breathe at last a clearer air
Leave behind the emptiness
A world goes on with one soul less
Enter into perfect grace
See at last a better place

Slow and subtle
Bittersweet
Slipping in on silent feet
Superbly supple destiny
Reaping souls in infamy.
Death can be a funny thing
When you fly on broken wings.

Tomorrows

Do you know
Can you see
Picking up the shards of me
Slivers here
And pieces there
Flashes showing everywhere
Turning tides of sorrow
Hoping that tomorrow
Will bring some way to put them back
Where first they started at
Running through the darkness
Screaming through the day
Trying to find some kind of peace
To keep the world at bay
Collecting writhing shadows
And seeking for some light
Can you lend a tender hand
To give some small respite
Do you know
Can you see
Picking up the shards of me
Slivers here And pieces there
Flashes showing everywhere
Turning tides of sorrow
Hoping that tomorrow
Will bring some way to put them back
Where at first they started at
Delving through garbage
The tossed aside of time
Hoping to find treasure
Beneath the writhing grime
Can you see tomorrow
Hoping for today
Can you know the past
And still walk away
Who will see the darkness
Held inside the light
Who will stay and keep them
Through the longest night
Never do we really have
The time we've counted on
And in the end the answer is
We still continue on
Do you know
Can you see

Whoa...not sure how to respond to this but it's powerful. You have managed to alchemize pain into something beautiful.
