Filling in

the Center

Moving through

the husk

Outer edges fade away

and leave the soul to dust

Sucking out the marrow

shallow swimming nights

when Content true is lacking

and its just another rush

strength gave out so long ago

now all that's left is rust

a slough of mask

slipping through the motions

fading day by day

and no life around that sparks

not looked for

unseen below the surface

missing bones and done.

"I'm fine, I'm fine,"

You say like you're fine;

Waving around your hands

Like I'm eating up your time.

How shall we progress?

Do you suggest

pantomime?

"foster"

they say it takes root

even in a shallow bed

but i never saw shallow really lose their head

or heart if the truth were told

it makes me wonder why they think they know

standing in the stream to just to feel the flow

or block it with their thinking Know

how do you raise up

maybe make a fuller cup

foster all the bits inside

when it feels like all your dreams have

died

I've worn your heart ache around my neck like 24 karat gold.

I've ice packed your bruises, and bandaged your wound.

I've claimed stake on a mountain not climbed, I've been told.

Covered my sun just to sit in awe of your moon.

I've hung my hand out the window while cruising down your memory lane.

I've sat in silence for years while your mouth always spoke.

And as much as I've loved losing my sanity to keep you sane,

I think the clasp on this necklace finally broke.

paved

ribbon bands of black

sinews weaving through

over and around

tangled

paved you think

until you see its blood

running rivers

lost souls

grinding chaos

you cannot know

until you're stuck inside

wading through the muck

uniquely yours

alone.

I'd ask for it back

If I didn't fear it's already atrophied.

What use is my heart to you anyway

If I still have the other half of me?

alleviate

pregnant pause, it takes a breath

adding weight with languid inhalation

trapped supporting without validation

a speck a mote you'll never see an exhalation

spirit begging for a little less  damnation

some sort of blessed undeserved cessation

alleviate

this guilt

the hate

a fear

the pain

self flagellation

begun the moment you were lost to me.

Forgive me not for your soul's healing

Not for karma nor proof of dealing

Not for ambulatory feelings

Not because you found a better match.

Forgive me not for consolation

Not for release, nor admiration

Not to avoid the confrontation

Or to help yourself detach.

Forgive me not for quiet justice

Not for guilt, nor hearts erupted

Not for tranquility, not for toughness

Not because it's right to do.

See, I don't ask you for forgiveness

I do not ask to be excused.

Forgive me not for anything

Because it's you.

Desecrate

standing by the wayside

a lonely stretch of road

wizened eyes betray

the youth of body

quiet strength and sadness all

emanate

searching this place

temples to joy once stood

heavenly harmonies

stories laughter and love no stand

desecrate

an epitaph of black and grey

brown of dying things

a tear single streams

eyes that can no longer gleam

and shoulders bow away

in the wake of  one single

Devastating

Mistake

Gregarious

Her smile radiates to those around her,

Others are drawn to her with this unexplained magnetism.

She never even has to try, She's the life of the party.

I've never given much care

To open wounds.

My fear lies only

In a hidden bruise.

An open pain will always heal

In time,

And you remember it

By the scar that's left behind.

A bruise dies slowly,

Unnoticed by friends.

Your body looks healed

When it reaches the end.

It's like it never even happened;

You can't pick at the sores.

But my heart bruises easily,

How about yours?

Phantom

Like a phantom in the night,

You stole my heart.

I ache for you,

And hate being apart.

You consume my mind,

You have my soul,

You're beautiful,

And I want you to know...

I want all of you,

Every flaw too..

Do you remember when you were a child

And you'd see a trick so unbelievable

That you would devote the next 6 days

To studying how to do it, too?

Magic has always fascinated me;

To see a clear illusion and still be entertained.

Perhaps my fallacious reasoning

Is what landed me here with you.

Evasive

Like a shadow of the night, she is alone.

Pushing everything and everyone away because she feels she deserves none.

She punishes herself for nothing more

In this dark world, there is none.

But light, it blinds her, all her pain disappears...

She feels pleasures never felt before.

She found the only one for her...

But darkness took that light away.

It eats at her like a cancer every day of her life, she will never forgive herself for letting it go.

She will never forget the way she felt when the light chased away her pain.

We started out as friends,

And progressed to more,

A connection so deep,

We hadn't felt before.

Too much distance between us-

Oceans apart,

But something building,

In both our hearts.

A new friend, a new lover,

Who knows what the future will hold?

Throwing caution to the wind,

Being brave, vulnerable and bold.

Enjoying the moments,

Living in today,

Wishing so hard,

You weren't so far away.

Will we ever meet?

Only time will tell...

For now I'll enjoy

Being held under your spell...

My mind comes alive,

My senses awaken,

But sadness runs through me,

Remembering...

We're both taken.

Was it the look in your eye

When I kissed you?

The warmth of your breath

On my skin?

The way you trembled,

Underneath my touch,

That slowly drew me in?

Your beauty was unnerving.

My desire was untamed.

I reached for you with open arms,

You softly called my name.

Then suddenly you left,

Torn from me, or so it seemed.

Could I have been mistaken?

Was it only just a dream?

Here I am standing alone again

Lost in my thoughts without restrain

Thinking of you, lost in your eyes

Lost in a love that won't compromise

You are so close yet far away

the distance heavy but I am here to stay

breaking my heart with your muted despair

I need your love like I need air

;)

I hear the word heavenly,

And my mind goes to you,

To those blue eyes,

An abyss of blue.

Fear, desire,

Lust, sparkle and shine,

What I want to see

When your eyes search mine.

I want to feel your body,

Pressed against me,

Loving and passionate,

Beautifully free.

Tangled, intertwined,

Rolling around,

Smiling and happy,

Connected and bound.

Giggles and fun,

Hearing you laugh,

Carefree...

I'm enjoying this path...

Lying to myself is perhaps my greatest sin

I laid there in the rubble when the walls came crashing in

I barely moved my fingers and you saw I still had breath

So you gave me mouth to mouth until you had nothing left.
