What Do You Look For In A Woman?

74 posts in this topic

As I'm learning more and more about myself and what I'm looking for through my dating escapades I'm wondering if I'm looking for something too specific? Being too picky? As I'm pretty new to being able to act on being Bi I guess I'm looking for someone who's confident with themselves and their sexuality to sort of show me the ropes, I think in my first experiences with women (in 6 years) I'll be pretty nervous so I'd want someone else to be able to see that and take control.

I've also realised I like someone I can have a laugh with, whose not afraid to be a bit ridiculous with me- an immature sense of humour is a must haha. And someone who is at similar life stage- at the moment I'm enjoying being with friends, drinking, socialising, not really settled into a career yet but that's okay, right now I'm more interested in having fun and settling down once I've found the right person. In sense of relationships, I think I'd need something casual but if it turned into something more serious I wouldn't fight it.

How about you? Are you open to meeting anyone and seeing where it leads or are you a bit more choosy? I'm pretty interested in hearing your preferences :)

I think I am looking for someone who is of a similar age to me and is at the same or similar stage in life as me as well... If I met the one or someone I believe is who I want to spend my life with.. I wouldn't want to waste anytime.. I am ready to settle down now when I find that one person.. I want to be with someone who can make me laugh, make me smile whenever I walk in the door or the room, someone who I can talk to every day and not get sick of each other.. A woman who understands and is okay with someone who has medical problems, someone who can take care of me and will let me take care of her.. Someone who although is funny and jokes around knows when to be serious.. Who is there for me when I need someone and when I don't think I need someone but still do... Someone who likes being romantic and doing date nights etc.. Someone who I can build a life with and create our own family.. I know it is asking for a lot but that's what I want..

Someone who can brighten my day, make me smile when I'm at my worse, be open and honest, carry on a good conversation, be adventurous and loves outdoors, has a few common interests, and more. Someone that I can be myself around, create romantic day/night for, make feel wanted and needed as I'd hope they'd do for me too, and someone I can have fun with but have our serious moments too. I'm not overly picky though...it's more about the connection and personality over all.

Preferences are fine, but sometimes what we fall for is not within those boundaries. It's great to know what you want, as long as you don't restrict yourself to just that.

I'd like to think I'm pretty open minded. I seem to have a preference to brunettes, but that's just a hair colour lol. She'd need to be able to get me to have fun, if she could do that then I'd bow down to her feet. I'm so uptight and mature too much of the time. I need someone to drag me out into the world!.. I like conversation though. More than just the sexual side of a relationship. I love listening. I'd imagine that I like to have a woman that was affectionate. I'd probably prefer someone who's a little more confident in their kinky side, as to maybe ignite mine :P

At this current moment in time, I have a man. So, perhaps she'd have a guy too, maybe that could work. I don't really plan on losing him, so I wouldn't want that to be an issue.

Words, personality and thoughts are what draws me to women. If I like the way they think then that catches my eye.

I'm happily married and not interested in pursuing any other relationship right now. But if that weren't the case, I imagine it would be the same things I look for in a man. The normal stuff like kindness, responsibility, maturity, balance, mutual interests, easy interaction, similar values but enough tolerance to negoiate where we differ. Definitely would need to be open-minded and intellectually curious. Preferrably interested in some field of science (I seem to have a weakness for the ones into biochem even though that's not really my bailiwick). Tolerance of my geeky interests (video games, board games, comic books, sci-fi/fantasy) are a must, bonus if they like them too. It would be nice if they skied. Being an attentive, mature, and caring partner is a pre-requisite. The rest is negotiable.

I'm pretty picky with guys and girls. First of all there need to be an immediate attraction, for me it's either there right away or it never comes. Height or hair color don't matter too much when it comes to girls, but 90% of the time I'm attracted to Brunettes. I'm always drawn to a pretty face, warm smile, and a slim body.

I'm looking for someone that I just click with, due to having similar personality traits, life experiences, interests, morals etc. I'm looking for that feeling of familiarity that you get with some people, where it feels like you've known them for much longer than you actually have. I want a girl that is not emotionally closed off, who's affectionate, flirty, witty, educated, down to earth, has a bit of a wild/kinky side and doesn't take life seriously all the time. I want to feel comfort & trust, but also excitement & passion.

My opinions is, don't settle. Keep an open mind as you meet new people, but if you don't feel the attraction & connection you're looking for, let them know and move on to someone else that really knocks your socks off.

I remember replying to a thread like this before but I'm not so sure what I typed anymore.

So what do I look for in a woman? A long-lasting friendship, a bond, a connection that goes beyond the physical. At this point in my life, I don't see myself wanting to leave my husband to live with a woman. I am very much happy in my heterosexual marriage and mostly enjoy the deep female friendship, with intimate benefits during the times I crave the sex.

I am attracted to those who are somewhat the opposite of me because it makes life interesting, as long as we share some similarities to keep the friendship strong and stable. I love a woman with a good heart, who is strong, sincere, genuine, affectionate, caring and considerate. Someone stable and doesn't have too much baggage. Someone who can balance me. Someone who can laugh and find beauty in simple things. Someone with a mature way of thinking.

And obviously there has to be chemistry and attraction. That is a must for me.

I'm not currently looking for a romantic relationship right now and will be staying like this for a long time but if ever the day comes that I'm ready, I just want someone who makes me smile all the time.

Very well put Faith! So true that often you end up with someone you would never have imagined yourself with. I suppose that's also why we can end up with the wrong person if your so drawn to someone that you can't end it. I've increasingly found that right now although I'm still not certain of what I'm looking for in a woman, I am into guys that I wouldn't have thought I would have gone for- super confident, flirty, a bit of a player attitude. But I guess that's the guys that have got the same interests as me right now as I'm not wanting anything serious right now, not with a guy anyway.

I'm pretty picky with guys and girls. First of all there need to be an immediate attraction, for me it's either there right away or it never comes. I'm similar in the sense of if there's no chemistry or spark straight away then there probably won't be. My friends can't understand it, but I don't see the point in wasting time if there's nothing there. IT can be a bit of a pain thought as I can meet the most lovely people but just not feel anything. Although if I do actually meet someone I have a spark with I'll tend to put up with crap from them. Nothing major but way more likely to give them too many chances when in actual fact they aren't worth it. I need to keep in mind not to settle with the next person I fall madly for :/ ha!

right now i look for a girl that i can be stable and steady in the relationship. that's probably something weird coming out from me, as most of my friends recently say so. i mean i'm done being a kid playing around on the field, i want to focus, i want to grow up. and i'd love someone that i can "grow up with". someone that has that physical connection and attraction when we first meet, a strong chemistry are must. and she's understandable, can drink lol, know how to cook because i suck at cooking. someone has a dirty sense of humor just as i am, not take things seriously, so we can always joke and laugh about our silliness, no dramatic, easy-going person.

i like differences, but somethings gotta be similar or we'd be too much different to even match and compliment one another personality. and someone gives me the feeling like "hey i know you somewhere, or somehow, i just know you".

the girl i set eyes on, say i'm being picky, but she's far pickier than me. i just want someone different, but actually the same as i am, so we can constantly get a hold of one another without a fight or misunderstanding, and our little differences compliment, and sharp our personality. why do i sound like im on the look for a future wife? @_@ lol

I find it best not to actively look for someone. If I had to choose though, I would say my ideal woman would be someone I could be comfortable with. Someone that loves to laugh & be relaxed. I love a sense of humor, so that is a must. Confidence is nice. I can be a bit reserved, so someone who is a bit more outgoing to balance me out (and pull me out of my shell a bit). She would be driven, but not be a total workaholic.

Physically, it really wouldn't matter much to me. I've had a diverse dating history, so as long as she is happy with herself, I would be open. :)

I look at a woman's eyes--are they warm, enticing. I guess next would be her smile. I look for a sense of humor and if she has passion in her life.

I'm not currently looking for a relationship. I'm still married and need to sort those issues out before beginning anything new. It would be unfair to myself, him and her otherwise. But when I do sort out my time and I'm available for a relationship, I would be looking for someone that likes me. Someone that genuinely enjoys being around, no matter what we are doing. I used to say "I'm not picky about these things" but that is very wrong. All those times that I thought I was being open minded and accepting anyone into my life that shared common interests, etc... I would trail off from them within weeks because they just didn't "get me" like I need someone to. Of course there has to be an attraction to someone in order for romance to blossom. I was wrongly choosing people that were better suited as friends for me because ALL we had in common is that we were both decent looking people that enjoyed similar hobbies. That doesn't make a lover. That makes a nice room mate, lol. So with all of that being said, I've realized that I am extremely picky with both men and women. I believe they deserve an intense love as much I deserve that, and I will not waste someone's time if they don't provide that for me.

To make my head sping, lol :D

To be serious, I don't know yet. I'm not looking for anyone in particular. I'm open to what life brings me and I don't have a set of criteria a woman should match as long as we click and there is chemistry, I guess.

I often wonder if I'm being too picky... This goes for both men and women. It happens that I meet very nice people, who are interested in pursuing something more, but from my side it's just not there. Even with an open mind, without some form of a spark, pretending feels wrong. And then of course the opposite is true as well, the people you are attracted to, aren't interested in you, hahaha.

In general, people with a pretty face, who are confident (without being arrogant) and have some form of a passion in life, who aren't afraid of trying new things and who make me laugh, are usually very attractive.

I'm pretty new at exploring my bi-ness too. So right now, something casual with an attractive confident women who doesn't have a problem with the fact that I'm still pretty green would be good :)
